Vesak Celebration

On Vesak we hold our largest gathering of the year to commemorate the birth, enlightenment, and final passing of the perfectly Enlightened One known as Gautama Buddha. We will honor this sacred occasion through a full day of ceremony and celebration.

The day will begin with a chanting ceremony following a Vesak tradition of offering flowers to adorn a baby Buddha statue. We will host a lay ordination ceremony for those formally declaring their intention to follow a Buddhist way of life, a significant milestone on their spiritual path. They will take on five ethical precepts, take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, and establish their aspiration to awaken for all beings. In the afternoon, we will do a prostration walk on our land and enjoy a guided meditation and Dharma talk by Head Teacher Soryu Forall. There will be ample time for sharing food and connection in community. 

It is a joy to bring together long-time friends, supporters, current trainees, alumni, and members of our local community to rejoice and honor this sacred path together on this most auspicious of days. We would love to have you join us.
